Happy new year in 10 languages (Summer Learning journey, Activities)

I am probably tired if it doesn't sound right unless i'm just bad at pronouncing :) but enjoy

  1. Hello again Harmony, this is Elle from SLJ.

Ka pai - what a great video! You did very well, and it was awesome to see you pronouncing some pretty difficult phrases in other languages! Great job with stepping it up!

You are a natural in front of a camera, and I thought it was awesome that you read them out of a book instead of off a screen, because it felt like you were telling me a story!

Which language was the easiest to pronounce, and which one was the hardest?

The most difficult happy new year I’ve found is actually in Irish Gaelic! “Athbhliain faoi mhaise dhuit!”

On that note - well done and happy new year!

    Ngā mihi,
    Elle (SLJ)

    1. Kia ora Harmony!

Thank you for your reply, it's neat to hear back from you.

That's so interesting to hear that the easiest for you was Chinese and the hardest was Spanish! I think it would have been the other way around for me!

If you were to learn any new language fluently, what would you choose first and why?

Hope you had a great Christmas and New Years too!

    2. Hello Elle Sorry for this late replies, No problem i replies to my comments. The language would chose to learn first would be Japanese Or Samoan Or Maori, My reason to learn Samoan and Maori is because these are my main cultures, My reason to learn Japanese is so i can watch more anime and know what they are saying. I also hope you had a good Christmas And New Year :)

    3. Kia ora Harmony, that is okay! Summer is a busy time!

That is so awesome to hear, it is so special that you would like to learn the language of your cultures! And I agree, Japanese would be helpful for watching anime! I would like to learn Japanese too, because my best friend is half Japanese, and I would love to be able to communicate with her in her culture's native language too!

It was great to hear from you Harmony, and keep up the great blogging!
